Your small group of curious travelers will be escorted by Patrick Allitt. Patrick Allitt is Goodrich C. White Professor of History at Emory University. He was born and raised in England, went to college at Oxford University, then studied for the Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley. He has been on the Emory faculty since 1988 and is the author of six books, including I'm the Teacher, You're the Student: A Semester in the University Classroom. He is also one of the "Great Teachers" and has made five lecture series with The Teaching Company, most recently on the Rise and Fall of the British Empire. He has lectured extensively in Europe and America, and traveled widely as a study guide with groups of Emory alumni (most recently in southern Africa), and on trans-Atlantic ocean crossings with Cunard and Silverseas. He will lecture on the history of Egypt in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Dr. Anna V. Lambros, is a native of Thessaloniki, Greece and a graduate of Anatolia College. She holds an M.A from the Middlebury College School of Languages and a Ph. D. from Florida State University. She taught at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia for 22 years and chaired the programs of the Foreign Language Teacher Education and the Mediterranean / Near East Studies. She has served as principal of the afternoon Greek schools in Atlanta and in Arizona. In 2004, she joined the faculty of the “Evening at Emory Program” at Emory University, in Atlanta, Georgia where she teaches courses in Modern Greek which promote the language, literature and culture of Greece.
