Les K. Adler, Ph.D., is Professor of History in the Hutchins School of Liberal Studies and Dean of the School of Extended Education at Sonoma State University. In addition to being one of the founders of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at SSU, he has lived, taught and traveled extensively in Europe as well as in Asia where he served as a Fulbright Scholar at the National University of Singapore from 1991-1992. A specialist in twentieth century history and the Cold War, his essays, commentaries and book reviews have appeared in several national newspapers and on National Public Radio.
